Gabe Poteet

d. March 26, 2026

Gabe Poteet, a loyal companion and beloved member of the family, was born in April 2012 and passed away leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories.

Gabe was found through a rescue group one Saturday morning at Tractor Supply, a moment that would become the beginning of an unforgettable journey. Brought home with the hope that the children would grow up knowing the love of a dog, Gabe more than fulfilled that wish—he became a constant friend, protector, and source of joy.

As a puppy, Gabe looked just like a teddy bear, instantly capturing hearts. Over the years, his personality proved to be just as memorable. He loved riding in the back of a pickup truck, feeling the wind and taking in the world around him. He had a playful streak too, especially when it came to chasing squirrels—sometimes even catching them. Gabe also loved lounging in the sun, perfectly content soaking up the warmth, and he never seemed to meet a golf course sprinkler he couldn’t defeat.

Gabe was known for his toughness and fearless spirit. Despite his size, he never backed down, even once standing his ground and showing a German Shepherd who was boss. Above all, he was deeply protective of the girls in his family, always watching over them with unwavering loyalty. His protective instincts were strong—any unfamiliar male approaching when the girls were nearby quickly learned that Gabe took his job seriously.

More than anything, Gabe will be remembered for his devotion, his courage, and the love he gave so freely. He wasn’t just a dog—he was family, a guardian, and a friend whose presence made life richer.

Gabe Poteet will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
